Whitewater Rafting

Probably the most popular Colorado water activities for visitors are whitewater rafting and kayaking. Regardless of what you’ve heard, these activities are no longer exclusive to suicidal adrenaline junkies.

The guides are expert-level navigators, and for a small fee they will let you safely experience firsthand the tremendous power and beauty of water in its most ferocious form. Getting soaked is unavoidable. Admitting that you wet yourself on the way down is optional.

BRECKENRIDGE WHITEWATER RAFTING

Breckenridge Whitewater Rafting offers guided trips on five rivers that are within a one-hour drive of Breckenridge. These trips range from relaxed float trips where you can relax and enjoy the scenery to advanced rafting trips that will take you through Class IV and V rapids. Most trips last about half a day, but should the mood strike you, longer trips are available. And if you're feeling particularly adventurous, combine a whitewater rafting trip with a zipline tour or rock climbing for an unforgettable experience.

ARKANSAS VALLEY ADVENTURES

Arkansas Valley Adventures also offers several river trips that are within a one-hour drive of Breckenridge. Perfect for beginners and experienced rafters alike, these trips usually last from a half- to a full-day, although overnight trips are available. Arkansas Valley Adventures also provides zipline tours at two locations. If you're interested in designing a custom Colorado adventure, they can help you out with that, too.

BRECKENRIDGE KAYAK PARK

At 1800 feet long, the Breckenridge Kayak Park is the longest in the state of Colorado. It's located directly east of the Breckenridge Recreation Center and it boasts 15 water features. The park is ideal for those who want to learn how to kayak as well as for those who just want to get a little extra practice in. It's usually open from May through August, although opening dates depend on water conditions.
